Terms of Service
Plain-English summary: Olyn is a personal-finance tool that helps you forecast cash flow and estimate taxes. We're not your CPA, attorney, or financial advisor. Use the tool to inform your decisions, but don't file a return solely off our numbers — verify with a qualified tax professional.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Olyn ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under applicable law to use the Service.
3. Account & security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@example.com of any unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Not professional advice
The Service provides educational tools and estimates. Outputs are not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Tax law changes frequently and applies differently to each person's situation. We make reasonable efforts to keep tax constants current but make no warranty as to accuracy.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
Paid subscriptions auto-renew on a monthly or annual basis until canceled. You can cancel anytime in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months. If you believe you were billed in error, email hello@example.com within 30 days.
6. Free trial
New accounts include a 14-day free trial of all paid features. No payment method is required to start the trial. After the trial expires, you may continue accessing your data in read-only mode but write operations require a subscription.
7. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our infrastructure.
- Do not scrape, mass-export, or resell data from the Service.
- Do not use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Do not upload content you don't have the right to upload.
8. Your data
You retain all rights to the financial data you input. We use it solely to provide the Service. Details about storage, encryption, deletion, and third-party processors are in our Privacy Policy.
9. Termination
You may delete your account anytime from your account settings. Account deletion permanently removes your data within 30 days. We may suspend or terminate the Service for any account that violates these terms or engages in fraudulent activity.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific tax estimates are accurate for your situation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.
